Self Reliance *Values of Care and Patience*
Hello, I am now going to present the two values of care and patience, and try to see how they apply to the story of Self Reliance. In the story, the author talks a lot about the importance of people not as part of a group but only as an individual, and how these kind of people need to start thinking independently. He also talks a lot about not caring for what does not concern or affect you, and not letting other’s opinions change you. When talking about other people, he says that the most important thing is to ignore those who judge us for living independently, not caring for what society thinks and learn how to estimate a sour face, in the words of the author. Here is where the value of care is shown. You should not care that much for them, or others opinions, because that is one of the biggest aspects of self reliance, only trusting your opinion and learning how to lean on yourself when others don't want to.
